The Director of Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), Paulo Martins Chan, will deliver a “Privilege Speech” today as MGS Summit 2017 gets underway. Mr Chan, who spoke 12 months ago about Macau’s future development as a gaming and tourism destination, has titled this year’s speech “Mitigate Risk, Enhance Supervision” which will address current issues of concern surrounding Macau’s gaming industry.
He will be joined by a number of prominent industry speakers on the opening day of the three-day MGS Summit 2017, which has the guiding theme of Smart Cities and a lineup including government officials, marketing consultants and representatives of major tech giants.
Another highlight of Day 1 will be a talk by General Manager of Alibaba Cloud in Hong Kong, Leo Liu, who will speak about the effects of the big data revolution on the smart city model that is sweeping China. With Alibaba Cloud recently signing an agreement with the Macau SAR government to bring cloud infrastructure into Macau’s public services, big data and cloud computing are permanently changing the ways we interact with our city and each other.
