Leading officials from the Macau SAR government along with academics and key industry figures came together on stage to cut the ribbon and officially open MGS Entertainment Show 2018 on Tuesday morning.
Jay Chun, head of MGS organizing committee, the Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association, highlighted in his welcome speech that MGS aims to be “a platform for communication” among suppliers, operators, the hospitality sector and other members of the industry.
Mr Chun also remarked how the presence of new technologies and debate about the key issues facing the industry will form an import ant part of the show.
A score of personalities including Alexis Tam, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of Macau, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of Macau Government Tourism Office, Paulo Martins Chan, head of local gaming regulator the DICJ, Grant Bowie, CEO and Executive Director of MGM China and Wilfred Wong, President and COO of Sands China, were present at the opening ceremony.
